Short biography: Member New Zealand Defence Science Corps 1951-1955. Professor: Massey University, New Zealand 1965-1966; Victoria University 1967-1974. Professor of Psychology at the University of New South Wales from 1975 until his retirement in 1992. Served as co-editor of the International Journal for the Psychology of Religion at its founding in 1991. On retirement, Brown became director of the Alister Hardy Research Centre at Westminster College, Oxford from 1993-1996.
