This book is a bit old, copyrighted 1999, but I still found it relatively up to date as I read about sleep labs and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) which I had become familiar with during my own issues with snoring. What this book essentially does is inform the reader that snoring may be a symptom of a more serious medical condition, sleep apnea. Its advice to the reader is to seek professional advice, try and cure your issues on your own if you can through weight loss and exercise or other nonsurgical treatments, and if necessary, with surgery. While the book does offer help and hope, a "cure" for snoring is not so simple. I could not adjust to CPAP and losing weight, while helpful, is not easy as we all know. The one piece of advice that is easier to follow and has been helpful is cutting down on alcohol consumption in the evenings. A recent news report on giving up booze for a month (Dry January) touted various other health benefits to abstinence (better skin, sleep, libido, blood sugar levels, etc.).
