This was a good read that had me intrigues from the beginning. We are first introduced to Maria who comes off as this stuck up obnoxious spoiled rich girl trying to pull a tantrum on her husband. Then as we read some more, we find out that her whole life has been laid out in front of her so she is in an arranged marriage to a guy that acts like he can’t stand her. Damien is this tough guy that agrees to marry Maria in exchange he gets help from her father to start up his security firm and he secretly is attracted to Maria but can’t do anything about it. Can these two fights their attraction to each other or will they doom themselves because they can’t resist each other? This read is full of twists, turns, and mysteries that I never saw coming and it kept glued in the whole time.

What an intense ride this book puts the reader through, and I enjoyed every second of it. This book is captivating and tells the story of a girl in the place at the wrong time and the consequences that may or may not have benefited her. Scarlett is homeless and steals a candy bar so to keep from being caught she runs and ends up seeing something she wishes she never had. This causes her to come face to face with sniper Dean and at first, he wants to kill her, but he is drawn to her for some unknown reason he doesn’t want to know. Dean is a professional at his job he doesn’t make mistakes, but once he has Scarlett, he isn’t sure if he wants to keep her or kill and sometimes its both all at once. As Dean sees it, yes, he wants her for his own, but he is keeping her safe by feeding her and housing her. Scarlett has suffered tragedy from a young age and has had her own decision made for her even when she doesn’t want them to be so she ran and now she is in the clutches of what she believes is a monster. She fights Dean everyday trying to gain her freedom, even if she homeless she needs to feel like she is making her own decisions to keep her darkness at bay. These two have a chemistry but they both fight so hard against it. In the end can they both fight their demons and be together or is it too late to change who they are and have to let each other go? I can’t wait for more.… (more)

This enemies to lovers’ book had me on the edge the entire ride and I did not want it to end. Jack is the next in line to be the King to his family business and he was raised to be cruel, ruthless, and never show any weaknesses. Jack took all his training and father’s words to heart, he even tormented Maeve with his cruelty when they were younger. Now years later Maeve finds herself in need of Jack’s help even though she knows she shouldn’t ask because of his ruthlessness but she has no choice if she intends to save her family. Loyalty to family, ruthless acts, lies, betrayal, and finding yourself mixed in situations that are scary is not what Maeve intended yet here she is enduring it all and even if she doesn’t want to she is finding herself falling deeply for the guy that could destroy her. Jack has had an attraction to Maeve for years but knew she never belonged in his world so his cruel words were meant to deter her but now that she is asking for his help he can’t help but want to make her his permanently. This book was amazing with intense characters, action, steam, and I can’t wait to read more about the upcoming Irish mafia Kings like Shay.… (more)

This book was a fast paced read that follows Brooke who is being held prisoner because her brother Carter stole money from Thorn and his motorcycle club. Thorn is a dark character but he knows what he wants out of his club and knows he wants to do things by the books so to speak. He didn't like where the club was going in the past so when he stepped up he changed things around, but now things have changed because Brooke's brother took the money they needed and now Thorn has Brooke. Thorn has feelings towards Brooke from the start even if he can't identify them and a lot of action happens to keep the reader guessing. It is a very quick read that keeps you guessing who is guilty, what will happen next, and will we find out more in the next read. If you are looking for a quick, steamy, read with a touch of darkness this is a good read.… (more)
