One of the best in the New Vanguard series. Shows what can be done in a small space of pages. Filled with design history, technical details, tactics and the big strategic picture. A few more drawings would have helped the narrative descriptions of the inside of the US submarines (hence 4.5 stars not 5).
For a 48 page book published in 2007, it was a decent little summary of the fast attack nuclear sub history and details. I finished it during a single lunch hour including this review. I guess that I would have like to have seen more tables of data and cutaway artwork, but overall it was a good book. I am curious what the feedback from sub professionals would be about this book. From a relative layman submarine book collector, it was a pleasure to speed through.
