Coysh's work in researching and identifying not only specific pieces but also types of makers and the areas they worked was trailblazing. Even today, when additional scholarship (some of it by Coysh himself before his death) has somewhat dated some of the contents of this volume, it and its companion volume hold up well, and the photographs are some of the most consistent ever printed on the topic. Still worth having in the library of anyone who's serious about collecting blue-and-white printed transfer of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.… (more)
