Short biography
'Before being a publisher I was a full time writer with over 60 books published on a wide range of subjects including business, astrology, alternative medicine, Chinese culture, sex and humour (not all in any one book though). Before being a writer - although that was what I always wanted to do - I did many jobs including being a casino general manger, business consultant, cave guide and stress management consultant (again never all at one time). I have been married twice, have six children, one granddaughter and I badly need a rest and a holiday.”

For fuck's sake.

Honestly.

I mean, it isn't rocket science, is it? I've failed shapes in holes since kindergarten, but even I get sex.

The goodreads summary says Explicit Material. There is not the merest hint of a penis.

Honestly.

Take the key principles from the 3,000-year-old philosophy of Taoism. Combine them with more than 70 delectable recipes, including soups, salads, meat dishes, rice dishes, vegetables, and dessert. Add complete ingredients lists, instructions, cooking times and "best season to serve" advice. The result: a recipe for better living. As you turn mealtime into a mind-enlightening experience, you will also discover the significant benefits that come from a healthier and more balanced way of being. "If we are looking for a useful tool to aid relaxation we can discount some of the more bizarre and extreme forms such as Zen meditation which involves sitting cross-legged a few inches from a white wall and staring at it for long periods -- up to 16 hours in some cases - without moving and barely breathing."

This level of superficial and facetious critique jars somewhat with the cover, on which someone is clearly concentrating hard on some serious discipline such as Tai Chi. Daydreaming aimlessly to your favourite piece of classical music may be a nice way of relaxing, but I don't need a book to tell me that. It's 150 pages at about the level of a throwaway colour supplement article. Some may find it helpful, but it's too platitudinous and obvious for me.
