Of the several books that I've read about QEII, this was by far the best - giving details about the first 60 years of her reign up until her Diamond Jubilee.

Each decade of her reign is highlighted by important events and then is expanded on with details.

What a fantastic piece of satire! Lady Thatcher's Wink is wonderfully witty and chock full of recognisable figures from 21st-century life (politicians, journalists, royals), who are great fun to spot. The novel offers a bleak view of where our country is heading, but a valuable one. Really glad I picked this one up - you certainly don't have to be a politics nut to enjoy David Arscott's blend of ominous foreshadowing and ribtickling humour!
