Short biography
Marian Domanski, originally Moshe Finkelman, was born to Jewish family in Otwock, Poland. He was 13 years old when the Nazis invaded in World War II and forced the Jewish residents of his hometown into a deadly ghetto. He escaped, and with his perfect Polish and fair complexion, passed as a Polish Christian day laborer as he roamed the countryside to survive. After the war, he joined the Polish Air Force and later worked as a photographer, before moving to Denmark in 1968. He emigrated to Canada two years later and settled in Toronto. His memoir Fleeing From the Hunter was published in 2012 as part of The Azrieli Foundation Series of Holocaust Survivor Memoirs.
