Taut Thriller with an Otherworldly Twist

Brandon Ellis and Max Wolfe make a dynamite combination. Horizon Protocol is packed with heart thumping special ops action and mysterious flying hardware that doesn't behave like anything seen before.

Jackson Stone and Alabama Wren work for the ultra-secret Polaris corporation. Jackson isn't quite sure whether he's working for the good guys or the bad guys, all he knows is that he's been given another chance to work.

Dr. Alabama Wren is close lipped, competent and highly sarcastic. She's carrying secrets she's not ready to tell. Although she's been assigned to partner with Jackson, she has serious reservations about him.

Horizon Protocol scoops you up, deposits you in a world where nothing is as it seems. Racing ahead at light speed, each curve in the story will leave you biting your nails, wondering how this could possibly resolve.

And this is just the first book in the series! I can't wait to see what happens next.

Machiavellian Machine Intelligence or Not?

Dove Sequence, the sequel to the Project Horizon, is another triumph for the writing team of Brandon Ellis and Max Wolfe. Going even further out on the speculative fiction limb, it's a mad thriller to the end.

Jackson Stone and Alabama Wren are working together again, however, Jackson doesn't recall much of their former partnership. Director Hill of the top secret Polaris organization calls them to address an issue of emergency national security.

Without giving too much away, our team is again spread all over the globe. From the USA to London, to Egypt and Siberia, as well as a little bit of time travel, a battle is fought to keep planet Earth safe.

I'm going to have to be more circumspect about when I begin another Ellis/Wolfe novel. This is the second night in a row without sleep! I just couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this series. 5/5 stars.

Veiled: Prequel to the Star Guild Saga
by Brandon Ellis
I like reading prequels to see if I am going to like the series. The blurb for this talks about clay tablets, a breeding program, untold technologies, and a mass genetic breeding program and more. None of this was in the book I read! Maybe I got a different book? Reading other people's reviews some have that is a prequel and some say no, it is not a prequel. Maybe we all got different books! It is a short book and it is a fairly good book regardless. It ends abruptly. I am willing to try out the next book and see what the series is really about.… (more)

I'd recommend to all Sci Fi fans. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Told from many characters viewpoints, in a galaxy you'll be happy to be lost in. I finished the first three episodes in one go. Excellent.
My only criticism is its too short. Can't wait for next episodes.
