Just the back cover blurb is enough:
"Vicky Shore was the magnetic "come on" girl for a charity racket that used the popularity of a new dance craze, "the twist," to relieve innocent people of their money, and not so innocent people of their sexual inhibitions.
When Vicky started to twist her voluptuous body, men started to squirm in anticipation of the private lesson she promised them-when Vicky would be stripped of her last inhibition and anything went."

Jean Jerome has only been married for a year to an aspiring actor, but the relationship has already gone sour. Jean suspects that her husband, Rod, only married her for the connection to her famous sister; worse yet, she discovers that he's cheating on her, while Jean works to support him and his dreams. The only friend she has in the city is Lee Willard, an acquaintance of Rod's from his hometown and an aspiring actress. But Lee wants to be more than friends.

I liked this book.

MILD SPOILER ALERT

It actually has a mostly happy ending, which is nearly unheard of in pulps from this era.

END SPOILER ALERT

There's a lot of infidelity and luridness, but that's to be expected in this kind of book, I think. But I liked the character of Lee, and I felt empathy for Jean, even though she was more than a little co-dependent. It takes a while for them to get together, but once they do, they feel right. The ending leaves things a little up in the air (I would enjoy reading a sequel, even though to my knowledge there isn't one).

Recommended to fans of this genre.
