I was never a ballerina and really never inspired to be one either but I thought why not when I saw Mia in her tutu. Mia has a problem - she packed the wrong tutu! Her friend Ruby also has a shared problem - they both can't help tripping everywhere. What are they going to do when they are asked to dance in front of the whole class?

This was lovely to read especially with girls (boys too if they love dance). There is something about ballerina's that little girls seem to love. The writing in show more Mia's story was simple but not too simple for a child that already knows how to read some. The artwork and style of the story were really cute especially with all those animal dancers in tutus. This was a nice, cute story that had the main characters tossing caution to the win because who cares about tripping when you are trying to have fun? show less
Mia has come into my arms again! This time around Ruby is nowhere to be found. She's home sick in bed and Mia is feeling left out since she's supposed to dance with a partner. Then Bella and Ali ask her if she wants to be her partner. That's one too many partners! (Do you sense a theme?) What will Mia decide to do?

This felt not as long as Mia and the Big Tutu. It really could have had more but I like the general idea that you shouldn't leave anyone out because you wouldn't feel good if you show more were left out. Empathy is a trait that a lot of people need to learn so it's nice to see it portrayed in a book for young readers. show less
I enjoyed this book because of the message to overcome fears, or worries. It also had a great message and skill teaching on problem solving and could help convey a message of one way to problem solve for most of it's readers.
The main character at first was sad and felt lonely because she had no one to dance with on Dance for two day. Then she had two people who wanted to dance with her but the three of them couldn’t dance and she didn’t want them to feel sad and lonely how she felt. So show more she problem solved with the dance instructor so that no one felt left out. I loved the hidden message on problem solving and wanting other people to feel good because you like feeling good and happy as well. show less
Mia the kitten is ready to go to ballet! She can't wait to turn and twirl in her tutu, just like her sister does. When Mia leaves for her first dance class, she gets dressed and realizes she has a big problem: her tutu is way TOO big! She accidentally packed her sister's tutu! Every time she takes a step, her tutu falls and she trips over it. All of the tripping is starting to make Mia too upset to dance. She starts to give up until she meets up with her friend Ruby, who reminds her that show more with a little self-confidence and help from your friends, you can do anything. An enjoyable easy reader that any young dancer would enjoy. show less
