Short biography
Charles James Fox, a Whig Member of the British Parliament for almost 40 years, was famous as an eloquent public speaker. He was a strong supporter of the American and French Revolutions and an opponent of King George III. His prominence in public life led him to become one of the most caricatured figures of the 18th century. The town of Foxborough, Massachusetts was named in his honor.
