For my Non-Fiction book this quarter I chose to read Everything Weather. Weather is constantly changing. Weather is the change in temperature, condition of the atmosphere, and water in the air. Most of the time people can predict the weather, but sometimes we can’t. In this book the author talked about the different clouds. Stratus clouds are stormy weather clouds. Cumulus are sunny weather clouds. Cumulonimbus clouds are the giant storm clouds. Cirrus clouds are the wispy unpredictable clouds. In this book the author has a lot of fun facts.

Everything Weather was not my cup of tea. I like to read fiction books that make the reader imagine. But, i did learn a few things. For instance, Did you know the Empire State Building gets struck by lightning at least 60 times a year. Another interesting fact is, the fastest wind ever has blown 231 miles an hour. Any way, I could tell the author was trying to entertain the reader with
Fun facts and graphics. If you have a weird weather feddish, I totally recommend this breezy informational book.

This book is an informational text about tide pools—how they’re made, what lives in them, and how they change throughout the day. This book has many text features that kids can be introduced to including captions, glossary, index, and table of contents. This would be a good resource for students in western Oregon area because there are many tide pools along the coast. I would use this book in a unit on habitats. This could also be supplemented in a unit on planets and the moon, as it details gravity and how it effects the height of the tide pools.… (more)

This book is about the crazy things that happen at certain times and certain days. Fun facts about certain places with weather interesting weather events took place like the Empire state building. It also explains how nature protects frogs from the dangerous weather. They use mushrooms as umbrellas to protect them from the rain. The dangerous things that happen with weather are a few things like tornadoes or twisters, wildfires, floods, lightning storms, and droughts. Lightning storms happens when ice particles produce a positive and negative charge by coming together and shooting down electricity. Tornadoes are funnels of air that can pick up and destroy anything depending on the level of wind speed. The stuff that usually happens with weather that isn’t so dangerous is snow, sleet, rain, and ice rain.

My opinion on this book is i thought it was fascinating because it is telling me thing i need to do to protect myself from dangerous weather events. I also learned how to figure out what to do if a really dangerous weather event happens. So now if a dangerous weather event happens someday I will evacuate with my family to somewhere safe. Another thing i liked about this book is that i learned how some animals survive this dangerous weather.
