About the Author

Tim Furniss, spaceflight journalist and author, wrote his first book in 1970, and has since written more than 30 titles. He covered the launches of Apollo 15 and several Shuttle missions from the Kennedy Space Center, and in 1988 was one of the first journalists to report on the launch of show more cosmonauts from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. In 1994, he joined the Space Shuttle crew of mission STS 62 during their training, including launch and landing simulations. show less

5) The sun is a great book about the sun and how it affects the planets in the solar system. The pictures in the book are stunning and give students a basic concept about space.

6) Students will write a paragraph in the perspective of the sun (first person point of view) and what it would be like. Students will touch on major points such as the characteristics, the purpose, and how you affect other planets as the sun.
