A historical biography/novel of Lady Hester Stanhope who travelled in the far east after the death of her famous uncle William Pitt. After surviving a shipwreck she adopts Arabic dress anad becomes a political force in Lebanon. An intereting look at a unique and pioneering woman who broke with all the social mores of her time.
