This is a soup-to-nuts text on rope and twine. From the construction of various ropes, to their uses, to their foibles. The hemp rope of older times is relatively rare now. I did not know it was subject to interior rot if not dried. That alone would pay for the book. The knot illustrations are black and white, and open enough to be understood. Various knots are used in conjunction to show their most likely use, or hardware inserted into the matrices.
