Firstly, gorgeous cover.
Even though this book is called plant thieves I didn’t think it would be predominately about the unethical and violent ways that early fauna and flora species were collected by colonial scientists at the detriment of the indigenous communities that lived where the specimens were taken. It was focused mostly on that aspect and quite political. Whereas I came here to hear cool stories about plants rather than the brutal history behind their discovery and classification.
Writing was lovely though.… (more)
