Wow, I surely did not remember how bad of a film this is. Attempting to sidestep the serious ick factor prevalent in Hollywood blockbuster standards, even assuming anyone would make such a dubious attempt, does nothing to redeem this movie. I wonder, though: in contrast to other comedy farces, say Ferris Buehler's Day Off, with so many of those same ick elements in common, how does the latter film so clearly succeed despite them, while Scrooged rather serves as showcase.
A caricatured but mostly enjoyable adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol' set in 1988, starring Bill Murray as the bad-tempered Frank Cross who is the owner of a television station. Some poignant moments, a lot of exaggerated/slapstick violence, and a slightly schmaltzy but satisfying ending.

A good start to the Christmas season, but not something I'd want to see too often.

A fun, modernized (as of the 1980's, anyway...) version of the classic Christmas Carol story. less faithful to the book than some other adaptations, this is still a pretty fun movie and the changes were appropriate for the time and era.
This is a very loose comedy based on Charles Dickens classic tale of Scrooge, the miserly old man that is visited by three ghosts on Christmas due to his terrible behavior towards other people throughout his life.
