Arthur S. Goldberger (1930–2009)

Reasonably clear, though low-redundancy, exposition.
My first-semester Econometrics instructor in grad school called the author a poet and said he sometimes read this book just for fun; obviously no normal human would go that far.
Bonus: The book is sprinkled with useful info on GAUSS, although it pertains to a couple of versions of GAUSS ago.
