This first edition had so many mistakes I could only manage to skim after a while. Nevertheless, I noticed reasonable character development, an interesting premise and a gadget genius. Unfortunately, the dialogue mostly seemed puerile to me.

This is a first in a series and draws you into Falau's life and how he redeems himself by becoming the Fixer. It was a riveting novella and one which you need to read to get a good idea of who Falau is and why he is doing what he is doing. I have all five of the books, but haven't had time to get to the others yet, but I will. This first book hooked me on the series.

I liked Michael from the start but not as much as I did his long time friend, Tyler. I really felt bad when Michael drank to get away from his past, a horrendous nightmare that plagued him when he slept! When Tyler took him under his wing, as Michael had hit rock bottom, I cheered when Michael called his friend and agreed to work with him.
