Great little book, a good primer to the topic and a handy size to carry around visiting the sites.

But it's a 1989 publication and has something of a self-published feel to it. A more modern edition could use better photo quality and more detail in some of the mapping.

Place names are indexed, which is good to see and essential in a book like this. There are two others in the series, by the same author: Up to 1536 and After 1536.
