Lawrence Griffith

A stunning, gorgeous book compiled by Lawrence Griffith, curator of plants at Colonial Williamsburg. The photographs by Barbara Temple Lombardi are outstanding, and Griffith's short summaries of the plants and their uses in early American gardens make for very enjoyable reading. He's chosen particularly plants a bit off the beaten path, so to speak, and spiced up the descriptions with primary documentation, excellent anecdotes, and accounts from his own field trials with these plants.
