Retracing the footsteps of the poet in the Lakes District - Coleridge set out on a 9 day walk to escape his family and his problems ( he did this often). The author laments the rise of tourism with cottages, motorways, reservoirs that have changed the landscape over the last 200 years - I am still looking forward to being such a tourist and visiting these places!

The book is written as a joint effort between the six climbers, with contributions from others. Surprisingly, this turns what was in their own words destined to be 'another bloody expedition book' into a rather interesting study of a very successful climb. This book is hard to beat.
