I thought to have this for a distraction for a visiting middleschooler, but it grabbed me and I loved it! It's gory enough for the boys, but way more fun! I agree with others who enjoy the comparison to the Jack Sparrow movies, but here we get to exercise imagination a whole lot more. The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers, but that can't begin to prepare you for all the suspense and fun. Well worth reading and rereading!
I got mine on sale via Book Gorilla and took the audio option. Daniel F Purcell did a fine job of narration without being over dramatic.… (more)
