- Angela Hopf, full name Margrit-Angela Hopf-von Denfferfter, was born in Göttingen, Germany. She studied art and art education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. She was a master's degree student of surrealist artist Mac Zimmermann. She is the author and illustrator of a number of successful picture and children’s books as well as several volumes on art and cultural history, including Akt-Exlibris (1986). She is also the editor of several anthologies of historical letters between parents and children. She is a member of the PEN Center Germany.
In 1965, she married publisher and writer Andreas Hopf, with whom she had two sons.
