Nice approachable intro to what feng shui really is, which as predicted is much more interesting than the "put a crystal on the toilet cistern" version that reached me nth hand in the 90s.

If you are interested in the philosophy behind feng shui, this is a great book to start with. The book is not a straight "how to" of feng shui. The concepts in it are thought provoking and discuss the energy of relationships as well as the optimal design elements for supporting relationships. Although the book discusses romantic relationships, I've found that many of the insights can be applied to work relationships or friendships as well - especially during times of friction or chaos. This quote from page 15 speaks to the essence of being in a relationship. "Neither Yin nor Yang energy can fulfill itself: each needs its counterpart. Without its counterpart, there can be no transcendence. This is why difference and distinction can be a positive, rather than a negative, feature of existence."… (more)
