The three reasons I bought this Bible are (1) the compass cover, (2) it's the most lightweight, smallest "Study Bible" I've seen, (3) the simple basic study notes are just a bit different from others to cause me to think about things from a different slant, and thus to grow. So, about the compass cover -- it goes beyond simply omitting a cross image (which so many of us avoid, particularly those that ornamentalize the torture execution instrument), to actually offering a new instrument that reflects a different aspect of Christ's work, guidance for daily living -- the fact that by Him we were not just saved from death, but by Him we may have victory in daily living through His guidance every day as we prayerfully read His word. This book is such a delight, and it is a perfect addition to your devotion time! Authors Christopher D. Hudson and Stan Campbell combine their talents to offer readers ninety thought-provoking devotions, and illustrator Dennis Fletcher adds hilarious cartoons to emphasize their thoughts. Proverbs 17:22 tells us that "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones". 3-Minute Devotions to Laugh and Reflect is truly a book that will 'lighten your load and brighten your day', and it's a terrific resource!

I received a copy from Bethany House Publishers. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
