This is the story of Jeremy Bishop, who has returned home for his father's funeral. Jeremy's mother died the day he was born, and his father left unable to deal with the loss of his wife. Jeremy was raised by his grandmother, "Mama B" and his Aunt Jess (his father's mother and sister). Now, he looks back over his childhood, especially the relationship with his father who was largely absent but returned when Jeremy was a teenager, married with twins.

This is a story about family, and the show more strong attachment to our roots, even when family members are absent -- physically or emotionally.

It's well written, but I couldn't identify with the characters.
