I am going to review the book "You Wouldn't Want to be Sick in the Sixteenth Century". This book was about what people thought would remedy certain illnesses in the sixteenth century. The book covers the topic of the Padua-center of learning, a colledge of medicine in Italy, taught by the young Andreus Vesalius. It also talks about the spread of different types of plague, and early forms of plastic surgery. The book went on to explain about herbalists, and apothecaries. Then it went on to describe illnesses like scurvy, and their causes.the book definateley lives up to the title.

I think that "You wouldn't want to be sick in the sixteenth century!" is an excellent read, because normally I wouldn't read something like this, but the title just made me ask, why? why not? It's interesting to see what people from that time period thought would work, like who thought that willow bark would numb pain? Or that you could diagnose people based on the the color of their urine? The book itself teaches new words and facts, but with reader friendly grammar and visuals. Not only does the book teach about illness, but also a little history. These reasons, and more, are why this book earned a five star review.
