Liked the premise- found the execution a bit confusing will probably try another before I make up my mind

A very complicated but interesting start to a mystery series. A damaged but not bitter WW1 veteran, now a police inspector in Cambridge, faces a cluster of serious and possibly connected deaths. Curious characters abound in the history-rich university city and plots mix and mingle as WW2's shadow looms over Europe.

I liked this more than the first of the series, which tried to tie everything into one interconnected story. This lets several independent cases work themselves out. Oh, and the other review of this book has both conclusions wrong. Should have read on.
