I really liked this book. The details that the author conveys through the protagonists eyes. It is really worth the time reading. Thanks for the copy.

Ashael is an apprentice healer who doesn't know her own powers. A legend foretold by an ancient enemy deems her "the vessel" and she must be stopped before she realizes her full power. Iman is a slave sent by this enemy to infiltrate Ashael's tribe, but instead falls in love with her. Overall, I really this book. Ashael Rising was easy to read and the story easy to follow. It took me only two extended lunch times to finish. It was fun, set in a world with strange creatures (more to be discovered) and I would recommend as a light holiday read. My favourite part was the world created; the characters could be expanded further.

I'm totally a sucker for other-world fantasy fiction and this book is totally fitting the bill. It has magic, weird creatures, and well-written tension and conflict. I'm pretty stoked that this is a series and excited to see the next novel!

I thank the author and publisher for giving me a free copy to review in exchange for my honest opinion on the novel. Honestly, I love it!
