This a good book to explain dirt and how it is made and what it consists of. It does a good job of including academic language and explainign the processes of decomping and erosion with clear illustrations. as well as the role soil plays in our world. The text is great for teaching informational text structure. This book includes a table of contents, glossary, index, fun facts section as well a science experiment at the end of the book. Summary: My Brain is a book that gives easy to understand information about the brain and how it works. It talks about the three major parts, the things that it helps you do, and how it sends and receives messages.

Classroom Extensions:
1: Draw what they think their brain looks like based on the book description.

2: Make a list of things that their brains help them to do, use recall to remember what was mentioned in the book.
