Lee does a great job sifting through the legend and what little is known of the man Edward Teach. From Teach's marketing prowess that made nearly everyone give up without a fight to his illegal murder after he had already received a pardon, this is the penultimate book on the life of Blackbeard. Lee delivers gold in his thesis on the life of Edward Teach.
