The Balance of the Two Lands is one of the most unique and provocative books I have come across as of late. The subject matter is Greco-Egyptian polytheism, but don't let that throw you. It is more than obvious that his passion for the gods goes far beyond any crusty old academic tome you may have read previously. The book is a collection of essays covering everything from a beginner's guide, the truth concerning Cleopatra VII to the joys of the Dionysian life.

This book also has two features that even the most jaded amongst us can enjoy. The author's scholarship is outstanding. Whenever I saw a fact which I questioned, I found it to be firmly based on the writings that still exist. Lastly, he is a fun writer with a good sense of humor, and an in-depth comprehension of the ridiculous profoundness of his message.… (more)
