I know this is an odd complaint for a title from the Loeb Library, but I found the translations on the rectos left something to be desired.

A delightful read which I read in 3 hours...okay, so I read only the English translations but it was still delightful. 234 pages of excerpts from different authors from the ancient Greeks & Romans such as Homer's "Odyssey" to Jerome's "Letters" covers a wide range of philosophy, religion, & observations of life & events. Each of these excerpts like Cicero's "On Duties," have their original language on one page & the English translation on the other. The original languages will include either ancient Greek or ancient Latin. Most of these excerpts include Herodotus, Xenophon to lesser known authors like Pindar. It is an excellent introduction to the Loeb Classical Library.
