Simple text at about a 1st-2nd grade level & colorful illustrations. Fun story about a school-aged child gardening. Goes through the steps of planting the seeds, adding some sunshine & water, and treating Mother Earth right. If we do so, "she" will make us strong...through eating healthy food. Very fitting for our time of Big Ag and the downfalls of our current food system. I also enjoyed the song at the end of the story & believe young students would even more so!

Rhyming book about a boy working in the garden. Art is done with chalk or pastels. Good art book example for GLAD unit.

I liked this one because I could sing the song to my kiddos :-)
