Excellent biography of Lee Marvin authored by one who should know him best, his wife. Pam Marvin was his second wife yet knew Marvin from her teens when they both lived in Woodstock, NY. They married others but eventually married in 1970. The author covered Lee's early life as well as his service in WWII. She provided a lot of the testimony from the famous palimony trial. It was a surprise to read that Lee's death was caused by inept surgeon's and bad care. The book presented a picture of Marvin that differed from my impression of the gruff, hard drinking man. Sure he was a drinker but he was dedicated to his craft, a devoted husband, a teacher and inspiration to his grandchildren, and a valued friend. The author also presented life with Marvin on film sets as well as fishing in Hawaii and Australia. A well done book.… (more)
