I was hovering between 4 and 5 stars.
One of the few male-POV YA book I've come across and liked.

I like it. It's not an easy read, but that's why I do.
It's not perfect. There's no certainty. Just a long twisty road ahead.

Messy relationships. Messy situations.
Us, kids, f-ed up by our parents - more often than not.
It's life, and that's okay. 'Cause no one knows the rules and everyone plays by the ear.

It's messy. It's complicated. It's ugly. It's beautiful. It's life.… (more)

DNF: I thought it was boring with very little character development. I really did not get a sense of who Evan was. His father's reaction was also out of character. He went from being distant and never around to taking him away for several months to a small cabin on a lake in Minnesota, where it didn't seem he worked at all. I'm really confused about what everyone liked so much.

As a coming of age, what the heck am I doing, book I think the author hits on several points that seem simplistic in the hindsight of being an adult. Personally, I think the book does a good job of showing the myriad of emotions that come with transitioning from childhood to adulthood. If you're looking for a whitewashed story where teens suddenly have fully developed adult ideas, this book isn't for you.

I have been looking forward to reading this book, but I have to say, I was a bit disappointed.

While I was thrilled to see a book about a character that might be bisexual (I say might because the character never chooses to give himself a label), I was saddened to see his cavalier attitude towards cheating.

If this book were about a young guy dating one girl and seeing another girl... people would be all up in arms about him cheating.

Really...what the main character is being is disrespectful.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with experimenting... but be open about it!

I really wanted to like Will. There was a lot going on in his life... things that would challenge anyone. But, the fact that he wasn't being honest with a single individual in his life made it difficult.
