This is a wonderful book of prize-winning photos that are bound to elicit a range of strong emotions. It showcases photos that capture mankind at our best but also at our worst. The collection contains more than just photographs; it also contains the backstory of each photo and information on the photojournalists who took them. It's been a go-to resource for me in my journalism class, but these pictures readily lend themselves to writing activities and class discussions in social studies and English, as well.… (more)
An amazing compilation of the Pulitzer Prize winning photographs from the early 1940s until the present. Each photo has a short paragraph describing the context of the picture and, when possible, personal reflections of the photographer. They are shocking, powerful, and breath-taking.
