Full disclosure: I spent some time at the Church of the Savior in Washington, DC, and attended its Servant Leadership School. I also visited the Recovery Cafe at its first location in Seattle and work with people in recovery. That out of the way, this is a must-read book with a riveting story and the author's reflections on compassion, addiction, recovery and vocation.
