The fearsome bounty hunter known only as the Mandalorian accepts a dangerous bounty and, with the help of an Ugnaught and an IG assassin droid, ventures into a pirate-controlled territory to secure a precious cargo in a manga adaptation of the first episode of the Disney+ series.

When I first saw this, I was beyond excited. A new Star Wars manga alone was awesome to see, and the fact that it was of The Mandalorian was also cool -- but that was also a bit of a downside to me. Getting adaptations of stories in different mediums -- especially in the anime/manga space, as adaptations are very prevalent -- is always a mixed bag for me, but one of the biggest problems is the fact that a slot in a publishing schedule is taken up with a story that we already know. Nevertheless, the story of this series works very well in the manga medium, and the art style is fantastic in being both true to traditional manga styles while also feeling very much like the TV series. It does feel a little disappointing that one volume only includes one episode of the series, but I suppose that's required for the page length and all. Still, a very exciting start to a good adaptation of one of the best pieces of Star Wars content in a long while. Recommended for fans of the saga looking for a manga alternative.

Content Concerns: As usual per Star Wars, there's a good bit of violence, from blasters, explosions, and monster attacks. Nothing else overtly objectionable.
