Crime of Passion by Gerd Oswald
Great cast, but the story fails to actually convince us why Stanwyck, a successful San Francisco newspaper columnist with a great job offer in New York, gives it up to marry cop Hayden, whom she hardly knows, and become a police wife. Fed up with the other police wives, she starts plotting to advance her husband's career. It would have been a good story with a little more motivation shown on the part of the characters, but as it is, it is just paint-by-numbers plotting that leaves out the details to make it believable.… (more)

The TNT commentator was right; the first season was about Gothic horror more than straight science fiction. I don't know if it is the greatest television horror/fantasy/sci-fi anthology series - I guess I'd have to give The Twilight Zone more points on technical merits - but I do know that it is my favorite.
