Felt like marking it DNF around page 100, but felt that there MUST be some revelation before the end. Nope.

I found this book to be well-written; it was properly edited, and there are an awful lot of books (most notably the Stephanie Myers "Twilight" books) about which this cannot be said. It isn't The Great American Novel; I wouldn't say that Walter is a character for the ages. In fact, he is a train wreck in action. And I was disappointed by the ending, which seemed a little like the author got bored and bailed. But the book is acceptable reading. I didn't hate it, and it kept me occupied for the better part of a week.

I received my copy of "Kids These Days" by Drew Perry as a complimentary copy for the purpose of reviewing for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.

On the good side, this book is moderately funny.

On the not so good side, the story rambles from place to place, without much direction. There are some situations that are humorous simply because they are ridiculous. But that isn't enough to make up for a the lack of a coherent story. At the end, it just kind of fizzles out, kind of like the final puff of air escaping from a balloon.

While I appreciate books about parenting and the joys/fears that come along with it, I didn't feel that the book progressed at a very interesting rate. I ended up feeling like I didn't care about the characters, because I wasn't getting to know them well enough. A good book, and interesting read, but just okay for me.
