Originalli issued by the german label Acanta, this extraordinary CD become. Finally available to a larger public through Arts. Lucia Popp is a fascinating singer for such a repertoire and Geoffrey Parsons accompanies her with the most accurate an stilish performance. Wonderful music in a wonderful edition. One of the very last recordings of Lucia Popp only shortly available in CD about 10 years ago. Arts is proud to offer exclusively this product at its usual at its usual low price especially in 1997, centenary of Brahms' death. The CD includes the complete collection of Brahms' Lieder dedicated to the girl (Mädchenlied).

From Arts Homepage: Lucia Popp and Jorma Hynninen sing Cantatas and Arias from Bach, Handel and Telemann. These two remarkable voices are accompanied by Carole Dawn Reinhart (Trumpet) and the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra conducted by Marinus Voorberg.

With a selection of the works in which all three composers liked to employ the trumpet whenever the approach of some great event was being announced, not only the brilliantly presented virtuous trumpet parts by Carole Dawn Reinhart are presented.
