The book is broken down into two parts: understanding what Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is and using the CBT method. CBT is essentially a type of psychotherapy where cognition and behaviour can solve problems when examined. The short, quick-read book examines what the words mean and activities for readers to try to further understand how CBT works.

The bottom line for how to talk to anyone and everyone is confidence. Being confident means being able to steer conversations and adapt. This book covers:
- self-confidence in a personal or professional first-meet
- acknowledging social cues and body language
- approaching someone and knowing what to say
- small talk and maintaining a conversation
- navigating a conversation going wrong
- advancing the communication stage from surface-level to a deeper level

Every chapter features key takeaways to summarise, and contains examples and scenarios to either relate to or be prepared for.

The book encourages reflection and is a great comprehensive guide to refresh skills personally and professionally. No one is liked by absolutely everyone, and not everyone wishes to participate in a conversation; so, the reader is cautioned that the best thing to do is to be authentic, and to understand body language and recognising social cues.
