While the author has provided the service of digging up obscure conspiracist items, he does not seem to have a sense of humor so much as a sense of cutesy paranoia. The linguistic juggling does not have the layered depth of Mencken, nor the satiric teeth of Bierce. He gums us with confused lateral rolls. Example "Berserker, "A Norse warrior who fought with frenzied fury, invulnerable to fire and iron, unlike his decadent descendants." This is not satire, and what does it even mean?… (more)
