Good for historical perspective. An oft cited source for information on Thomas More's part in Henry VIII's reign. However, not an easy read due to archaic language and sentence structure. Best if considered a reference, even though at time it borders on the panegyric. A mercifully brief, but historically important biography of a key advisor during a critical time in English history.

Short defense of the life of Thomas More. Written very much as a legal defense against the charges of the day, fitting for the subject and not at all surprising for the author, More's son-in-law and an attorney himself.

Front and Back covers missing and book starts at "The Preface to the Reader". Possibly 1626 edition but could easily be a later edition.
