It's dumb, sexy fun as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy take a road trip between seasons two and three of the animated series on HBOMax. They're trying to lay low, but of course end up involved in all sorts of shenanigans and hijinks . . . and beds, many beds.
I enjoy the show, and this book does a good job of capturing its salty, crude, and bawdy tone. And like the show, the plot doesn't necessarily make sense, but that's okay, because the relationship between Ivy and Harley is all that matters. show more And they are relationshipping all over the place here.
And with Max Sarin providing the art, it's like the show is having an unofficial crossover with John Allison's Giant Days. Bonus! show less

Quite possibly the most adorable and hilarious comedy about three girls in college you are ever likely to read. Esther, Susan and Daisy so wonderfully human and lovable, the dialogue is sharp and thoughtful and clever and the stories are a pure delight. Good comedy is hard to do, but when it's done this well it's joyous and uplifting and deeply satisfying.
Ed Gemmell joins the college paper and helps sniffs out a scandal in the Student Union. In the aftermath, Susan gets involved in the upcoming election to the detriment of her personal life. Esther has a crisis of confidence or something after an old friends comes to visit. Daisy tries to keep them on the rails by taking them on a trek. Overlapping plots and stories, characters in drama being rescued by the power of friendship and it's all very funny and gorgeous to look at. Allison's show more characters and script are wonderful, and Max Sarin's art adds about ten pounds to the funny and the charm. show less
It's time to graduate from college, and our trio of twentysomethings get up to a typical mix of mostly humorous hijinks and a few dramatic moments. Unfortunately, for the final volume I was expecting something more than typical. It's a fine place to stop because they are done with college, but at the same time is also rather arbitrary instead of feeling dramatically organic to any of the characters' arcs.
Mostly this is my way of whining that the series should just keep on going, giving me show more the regular doses of Daisy, Esther, and Susan that I need instead of cutting me off. show less
