As entertaining as Susan, Daisy and Esther were at the beginning of their college journey, they have only gotten better with age. These chapters relate their further forays into adulthood, as Susan and Daisy prepare to move in with their significant others, and Esther finds herself adrift, roommateless, and possibly friendless. But true friendship conquers all once again, and the girls must face reality when they are handed some stark truths from the mouths of babes. I anticipate these silly show more girls (who despite all appearances to the contrary have solid feet and level heads) will continue to entertain as they enter their third and final year of university. show less
Esther grapples to write her English dissertation and also figure out what she's doing after uni. McGraw's cricket team needs to recruit a bunch of players on short notice before the pub cup match. He and Susan struggle to communicate after he loses someone close to him. Esther goes on a job interview in London and figures out her first steps after school ends.
Fun as always and it managed to explain cricket in a way that I mostly understood! There's sweetness and pathos here and as always I show more loved it. show less

It's dumb, sexy fun as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy take a road trip between seasons two and three of the animated series on HBOMax. They're trying to lay low, but of course end up involved in all sorts of shenanigans and hijinks . . . and beds, many beds.
I enjoy the show, and this book does a good job of capturing its salty, crude, and bawdy tone. And like the show, the plot doesn't necessarily make sense, but that's okay, because the relationship between Ivy and Harley is all that matters. show more And they are relationshipping all over the place here.
And with Max Sarin providing the art, it's like the show is having an unofficial crossover with John Allison's Giant Days. Bonus! show less

Quite possibly the most adorable and hilarious comedy about three girls in college you are ever likely to read. Esther, Susan and Daisy so wonderfully human and lovable, the dialogue is sharp and thoughtful and clever and the stories are a pure delight. Good comedy is hard to do, but when it's done this well it's joyous and uplifting and deeply satisfying.
