This series is beginning to hit it stride. With this third book, the plot is beginning to crystallize, and some very interesting revelations are taking place. The main characters are more interesting to me, more fleshed-out (even though they are still fairly basic).

Micah and Trip are wonderful together s mates. Their roles as 'master' and 'sub' seem to be somewhat flexible, but the love and adoration between them is very sweet. Micah has a lot to deal with when his past is suddenly revealed, and I was glad to see that Trip stayed with him all the way. The characters from the previous two books all made an appearance, and that added to the sense of continuity.

If you are interested in paranormal beings of a somewhat unusual kind, if reading abut fated mates who love and adore each other on sight is your thing, and if you want to know how the light pack is doing, you may like this book.

I liked this second volume of the series, it was better than the first. The pairing of an angel and a werewolf was fun, and even though the story about the threats was somewhat disjointed, it kept the pace up.

Angel and River were well suited as mates, and even thought they didn't fall in love immediately, it was clear they care for each other, providing us with some hot scenes as they settled into their roles of sub and Dom. It was too bad there wasn't more background about the, meaning their motivations weren't quite clear to me, and their interactions lacked passion.

There were some more revelations about the other supernatural races as well, which added flavor to the story. If you like to read about mixed-race couples and if you have an interest in the supernatural, you may like this book.

This story has a lot of potential. With a supernatural world of 12 equal races, all ruled by a council, and an interesting combination of mates for the first volume, I wish this story had been checked for inconsistencies. I liked the three mates (a wolf alpha who is a sub, a dominant vampire doctor, and a fiery lust demon), but their characters were flat and missing real motivation. The BDSM was more kink than real D/s and was disappointing for me.

Nevertheless, the concept of this world is interesting and I will definitely give the next few volumes a chance. If you like paranormal stories, fated mates who fall in love very quickly, and are looking for some hot action between the sheets, you may like this book.… (more)
