I found this book dissapointing. When I bought this book it implied that these were the love letters BY Walt Whitman to his working class lovers. No, these were letters to Walt Whitman by various young men. Ok, if you believe this book, Walt Whitman was a chicken hawk who got tired of his young lovers after six months or so. The book, from the various letters, suggest that once he was done with the young men he was done with them. This is abook that would be great if you had an extensive collection of Whitman biography and autobiograph and wanted to add something a little different. But for the casual reader - interlibrary this book than forget it.… (more)
